Designing an AI That Remembers
What Companies Forget
LUA - Knowledge That Works For You
You know that feeling when you’re sure you’ve seen that document before, but Slack search insists it doesn’t exist? Yeah, that one.
After three years in a fast-moving startup, I saw a quiet but expensive pattern repeat itself: great ideas vanish, decisions get re-made, and everyone loses time digging for things that already exist. It wasn’t just annoying - it was systemic.
Every company was suffering from the same silent disease: corporate amnesia. Knowledge scattered across Slack, Confluence, and Google Drive; context lost in endless threads; hours wasted re-discovering what we already knew.
Research backed it up - 47% of employees spend 1–5 hours every day searching for information. That’s a full workday every week, gone to digital archaeology.
🧩 The Invisible Problem: Corporate Amnesia
💡 The Spark: What If Companies Could Remember?
LUA was born from a simple wish:
what if your company had an employee who’s been there since day one, across all departments - but unlike humans, never forgets a thing?
Instead of static wikis and endless search bars,
LUA acts as a living, conversational memory layer across all your company tools -
Slack, Confluence, Drive, Notion, Jira - learning context from the spaces where collaboration actually happens.
No privacy invasion. No chaos.
Just a calm, collective brain that knows where things live and why they matter.
🔍 The Pivot: From Dashboard to Dialogue
We started with a traditional dashboard concept - clean cards, categories, search bars.
It looked good, but it didn’t feel good.
Users didn’t want another tool to manage; they wanted an assistant that understood.
So we pivoted from Search-First → Conversation-First.
This small change turned LUA from another knowledge database
into a chat-based companion that finds, verifies, and summarizes information instantly.
Key problems we focused on solving:
-
Wasted time searching across disconnected systems
-
Redundant work and duplicated effort
-
Low trust in existing knowledge sources
-
Dependency on others for quick answers

🌙 The Design Philosophy: Calm Intelligence
Corporate tools often scream for attention - dashboards, notifications, graphs.
LUA does the opposite.
We designed a calm, airy interface that invites focus rather than overload.
Every element, from spacing to tone, reinforces confidence and clarity.
If AI is the brain, the interface is the nervous system.
Design Principles:
-
Calm over clever. Prioritize focus, not flashiness.
-
Minimal friction. Every interaction feels natural, like talking to a colleague.
Context first. Always show “why” - not just “what.”

🤝 Core Principles That Define LUA
🤝 Core Principles That Define LUA
LUA is a Connector, not a Container.
It doesn’t hoard files. It helps you find, verify, and export them where they belong -
whether that’s Confluence, Drive, or Slack.
LUA is Proactive.
When knowledge becomes outdated, LUA nudges the original owner:
“This doc hasn’t been updated in 180 days. Still accurate?”
LUA Builds Trust.
Each answer includes a “Trust Layer” - who wrote it, when it was last updated,
and whether it’s verified by the document owner.

🤝 Core Principles That Define LUA
⚙️ From Knowledge to Action
The goal was never just to find information - it’s to use it.
When LUA answers a question, users can act instantly:
-
Export a summary as a slide deck
-
Generate a memo update
-
Compare data in a structured table view
This transforms company knowledge from a passive archive
into a living system that powers decisions.

🧠 The Human Side of Intelligence
Through user research, we mapped five archetypes:
Ran the Builder, Maya the Explorer, David the Visionary, Lina the Self-Starter, Eli the Gatekeeper.
Different roles, same frustration - lost time, low trust, and the shared dream of having someone who simply knows.
That insight shaped every decision we made:
LUA isn’t another AI chatbot - it’s the colleague who’s been around since day one.
It remembers the context behind every file, the “why” behind every decision,
and it’s always ready to give you the bigger picture before you even ask.
🎯 Results: A Company That Finally Remembers
🧭 Closing Thought
LUA isn’t here to replace human intelligence.
It’s here to extend it - to make knowledge feel human again.
So the next time someone at work asks,
“Didn’t we already do this last year?”
you’ll finally have an answer - and the proof to back it up.
